Following a complaint by ASCAV, The Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia has carried out a study of the new letting legislation enacted by The Canarian government.
The commission has called for two major changes to the legislation:

- To allow owners of residential properties to let out individual rooms
They say the new legislation restricts competition and creates barriers to the tourism market with an overly complex application process for a licence.
The Canarian government are meeting to discuss this on Tuesday. read more »
