The number 31 bus connecting Costa Teguise with Famara started a new route with stops at various hotels and the Fundación César Manrique on the 1st of October 2014.
The new route has been designed to meet the needs of tourists and residents with pick ups from hotels in Costa Teguise and a stop at the Fundación César Manrique, as well as the Centro de Salud (doctors) and Ayuntamiento (council offices) in the old capital. Costa Teguise has more than 8,000 residents living in the resort now, who need access to the local services situated in the municipal town of La Villa de Teguise.
The new route interconnects with the Intercity Bus Lanzarote service linking Costa Teguise with destinations of Arrecife, Puerto del Carmen, Máguez, Órzola, Puerto Calero & La Santa, through the lines 1, 3, 7, 9, 25 & 53 respectively, plus the Sunday Market in Teguise.
The number 31 bus service runs Monday to Friday (except holidays) from 07:30 to 19:45 and weekends from 10:00 to 20:15.
