Lanzarote was in the UK news this week when police released photos of a man who is believed to have tried to abduct a 3 year old girl from Costa Teguise in January 2012.
Above is a photo of the man taken by the family after the incident, the suspect is described as white, aged between 40 – 55 years old, approximately 5'8” – 5’9” tall with short dark hair and moustache.
Thames Valley Police released images of the suspect in a public appeal to identify the man. Police in London have since arrested a 62 year old man in connection with the alleged abduction.
The family from Milton Keynes had been enjoying a shopping trip during their holiday in Lanzarote, when the toddler’s father recognised the little girl’s flashing trainers as she was led out of sight by the man. Dad gave chase and grabbed his daughter from the man who subsequently left the scene. The family were on a nearby beach shortly after the incident and confronted the man, taking photos for identification.
